ALBION have confirmed the signing of Norwegian striker Aune Heggebo from SK Brann for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance.
The 23-year-old, who represented his nation at youth level, has penned a five-year contract and will immediately join the squad in Austria for their preseason training camp.
He joins with a big reputation, having scored seven goals so far this season, with SK Brann second in Norway’s top flight after 14 games.
Heggebo netted 51 times from 146 appearances for the three-time Norwegian title winners after climbing through the ranks of their academy.
He will line up alongside fellow Norwegian Torbjorn Heggem next season and said: “I feel very proud to get the chance to represent this club.
“I’d say I’m a hardworking player, and an offensive player who will create chances, score goals, and also help the team.
“In Norway, English football is really big. I was thinking that this is such a big opportunity, and when the move became possible, I was really excited.”
Albion sporting director Andrew Nestor added: “Reinforcing our striker options was a top priority going into this summer, so we are pleased to have secured Aune's signing.
