Police call for Jews to be alert following attack

WEST Midlands Police have told Birmingham’s Jewish community to “be alert not alarmed” in the wake of Manchester’s synagogue attack last Thursday.

Two Jewish people were killed and three left in a serious condition after a deadly attack outside a synagogue in Manchester.

As Jewish communities across the country have been left reeling in the wake of the violence, West Midlands Police announced on Friday they would be actively patrolling Jewish sites in the city over the weekend to provide reassurance.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “We remain deeply shocked following yesterday's tragic incident in Manchester.

“Our thoughts are with the family, friends and Jewish community at this devastating time. Our focus here in the West Midlands is to offer reassurance to the Jewish community so that they feel safe.
