Cool mobile gaming add-ons mean you may not need to join the scramble for the new Nintendo Switch

- JUSTIN CONNOLLY

Game changers

WE'RE less than a month away from the launch of Nintendo's nextgeneration Switch console which offers gaming both at home and on the go.

You'll be lucky, though, if you manage to get your hands on one on day one, with pre-orders selling out just about everywhere.

Things have changed a bit, though, since Nintendo launched the original Switch in 2017. You can now get your gaming fix using the computer in your pocket that you already own... yes, I'm talking about your mobile phone.

Both Android and iOS feature loads of top titles in their respective app stores, with Apple even offering a very decent subscription service called Apple Arcade, which is packed with great games.

And don't think these mobile games are somehow inferior to those in the console world.

The processing and graphics power of phones like the iPhone 16 and Google's Pixel 9 mean AAA titles are well within their reach games like Call of Duty and Resident Evil bring some top-notch titles to the party.
