Villa sign 'built like rock' striker Madjo for £10m

New Villa signing Brian Madjo in September

The striker, who turned 17 yesterday, has penned a long-term deal with Villa, returning to the country where he was born.

Madjo currently represents England’s Under-17s, despite having previously played for Luxembourg’s senior side.

He started three matches for the Luxembourg first team last year, including playing an hour in their 1-0 win over Sweden in March.

Born in Enfield but raised in Luxembourg, Madjo began his footballing journey with FC Marisca Mersch before moving to the youth academy of capital club Racing.

He joined Metz in the summer of 2023, initially playing for their Under-19 side before earning his first call-up to the Luxembourg senior team.

Madjo made his senior debut in August this season, starting against Liam Rosenior's Strasbourg, before once again playing from the off in the following match against Lyon.
