40-YEAR-OLD WAS STRUCK CROSSING ROAD BY VEHICLE ON 999 CALL-OUT
THE family of a city father-of-two who was struck and killed by a police car responding to a 999 call have paid tribute to him as a “beloved partner, dad, brother and son”.
Roger Bagnall, 40, was crossing Yardley Road in Acocks Green at around 7pm on March 19 when he was hit by a double-crewed police car responding to reports that a man had been seen nearby carrying knives.
Mr Bagnall, who lived locally, died at the scene, the Independent Office for Police Conduct said.
Mr Bagnall’s family said in a statement: “On March 19 we lost a beloved partner, dad, brother and son. We are all devastated by Roger's death.
