COMIC'S ROYALTIES REVELATION OVER NATION'S NO.1 FOOTIE ANTHEM
THREE Lions co-writer Frank Skinner has opened up about the financial gains from the iconic football anthem following the Lionesses’ triumph in the Euro 2025 final recently, debunking the “myth” that he’s raked in a fortune from the track.
At 68, Frank, alongside his fellow comedian David Baddiel, 61, launched the song with the Lightning Seeds back in 1996 to mark England's involvement in the UEFA European Championship.
The duo, known for their stint on Fantasy Football League, penned the tune which has been re-released over time.
Despite hitting the top spot on the Official Singles Chart in the UK four times since its debut nearly three decades ago, Frank insists it hasn’t lined his pockets as much as some might think.
