DOUBLE TROUBLE FOR A FIRST TIME DAD OF TWINS

How do you judge your ability as a parent?

l only ask because | know Victoria questions her strengths, frequently saying, “They must think I'm terrible,” after sending Emma to school without a suitable clip in her hair, or the right shoes.

I'll say, “I bet they've seen worse,” but she judges her capability in what I'd say is a harsh manner.

Whereas my concern is | don't put myself under the microscope even a little bit. Nor do | castigate myself, if for example, | let them watch Caught on Dashcam, instead of doing homework.

My concern is | like an easy life, doing what's best for me, and the children are incidental.

Delving a little deeper into my parenting style, a previously unimagined theme of a pursuit of a selfish existence emerged from the evidence.
