VILLA midfielder Boubacar Kamara is attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, the Birmingham Mail understands.

- By JOHN TOWNLEY

The 25-year-old has yet to sign a new contract with Villa, despite being offered fresh terms in April.

Talks progressed before the end of the season, but Villa failed to qualify for the Champions League on the final day of the campaign.

A 2-0 defeat to Manchester United was mired in controversy, though Villa didn’t help themselves when Emi Martinez was sent off at the end of the first half after engaging with Rasmus Hojlund as the last man.

As a result, Villa will likely need to raise a significant amount of money through player sales in the upcoming accounting period. They also need to generate funds before the end of this month.

Kamara has two years remaining on his deal, which is why Villa are keen to tie him down to a new deal. He plays an instrumental role in Unai Emery’s side and would command a substantial transfer fee if sold this summer.
