Priest calls for unity to solve blight of poverty

A PRIEST who grew up in poor circumstances in the Philippines has called for individual Brummies to all play a part in tackling poverty in the city.
Father Fretch Ballesteros is a Catholic priest in the Archdiocese of Birmingham
Father Fretch Ballesteros, 36, who is a Catholic priest in the Archdiocese of Birmingham, grew up in poverty in the Philippines, before moving to the UK in 2014.
He currently serves at the Holy Family in Small Health as the Priest in Charge.
Talking to the Mail, he said "poverty is really everywhere".
"I would say it's really up to each and every individual to open their hearts because it's not just about how much you have.
"I think helping is all about how willing you are to open yourself really."
