CASHLESS VENUES RESTRICTIVE SAYS SINGER
A BIRMINGHAM pop star said modern nightlife 'is a different experience now' and slammed cashless venues as a 'bad situation.
Former Fine Young Cannibals frontman Roland Gift was born in Sparkhill and achieved worldwide success in the 1980s with hits including 'She Drives Me Crazy'.
Now 63, he started his career in music after he was recruited in a nightclub, but said modern venues were 'a lot more sanitised'.
Roland said: "Places have become a lot more sanitised.
