Morrison's promoting Blues to kick on again

FORMER Birmingham City striker Clinton Morrison knows that 'every manager out of work' wanted the Blues job in the summer before they opted for Chris Davies - and after witnessing what they've been able to achieve this term under him, the pundit is of the belief Blues can put together successive promotions.

Davies left Tottenham, where he was assisting Ange Postecoglou, last summer to branch out into management himself and, save for the blot on the copybook at Wembley on Sunday, it has otherwise been a memorable first campaign in charge of a football club for Davies, who has also worked at the likes of Liverpool, Leicester City and Celtic before Spurs.

Davies has overseen a remarkable 39 wins in 54 matches so far, with among the games Blues haven't won including meetings with Premier League opponents Fulham and Newcastle United. Morrison acknowledged his coaching credentials prior to his appointment but is still impressed by Davies' results when under such pressure to deliver.
