Knighthead will be force for good at Edgbaston insists Cain

IT emerged during the winter that Blues' owners Knighthead Capital Management had taken their investment across the city.

With the Sports Quarter due to be completed in the coming years, which will see Blues leave their St Andrew's home, Knighthead are set to maintain their ambitions and financial investment - but they are not stopping at football.

It was announced at the beginning of February they had acquired a 49% stake - worth roughly £40 million - in cricket's The Hundred franchise, Birmingham Phoenix, who, as of this summer, will operate officially under the Warwickshire umbrella at Edgbaston.

The Bears were given the franchise by the England and Wales Cricket Board and opted to sell almost half of it to Knighthead in order to tap into more investment opportunities, in keeping with a number of other franchises around the competition, which will enter its fifth year in 2025.
