As Royal Mail has been told by the industry regulator that it can deliver secondclass letters every other weekday and not on Saturdays to help cut costs, we take a look back through the Birmingham Mail archives at the postal service.
As we all send less mail today, Ofcom have announced reform to the Universal Service Obligation (USO) is needed. UK households up and down the country are now sending fewer letters every year.
