DARING DADD IS A REAL CHARACTER

"ALL comedians are character comedians," reckons Brum comic Richard Dadd, "it's just the less imaginative ones play characters exactly like themselves. They think they're being truthful onstage, but they're not, they're playing a caricature.

Hailing from Yardley, Birmingham, and by day a voice-over artist, Richard began his stand-up career six years ago, at The Holly Bush in Cradley Heath.

“My friend Dan dared me to do as many gigs as I could in 12 months. I'd done a handful of gigs years before and he thought I shouldn't have thrown in the towel so easily. And I haven't stopped since, pandemic aside,” he says.
