'Cesspit' city centre route 'littered with used needles'

A GRIM link between two of Birmingham's railway stations has been described as an unwelcoming “cesspit” for visitors.

The walk from Moor Street to New Street under the Bullring is the “worst interchange” in Britain, claim some.

The Birmingham Mail took the walk between the two stations alongside rail passengers after Transport Matters posted a video online, calling the “most direct” route between stations “dingy”.

The St Martin’s Queensway bus-only tunnel was marred by graffiti and litter, including discarded intravenous needles and cans of extra strength cider.
