Boss had to be shown door after woeful Wolves form this season
Birmingham Mail

THE sacking of Wolves head coach Vitor Pereira was inevitable after his team's dismal 3-0 defeat at Fulham, who themselves had not been great shakes lately with four successive defeats.
Even allowing for Emmanuel Agbadou being red-carded in the 36th minute, Wolves were awful and Pereira had described it as the worst performance in his time with the club.
So it begs the question... why did Wolves give him a new three-year contract just 45 days ago? And is it not time the Chinese owners Fosun sold the club to owners with deeper pockets?
Pereira came in December when Wolves were 19th in the Premier League. Having lost 11 games and won just twice, Gary O'Neil was sacked.
Under Pereira, they finished 16th with 42 points - well clear of relegation. Good job done.
But then Wolves lost their best players Matheus Cunha, Rayan Ait-Nouri and Nelson Semedo.
So what sort of season did the chairman Jeff Shi expect? Therefore why give Pereria THREE years?
This season is going pear-shaped. No Premier League wins, two points from 10 games and eight points from safety To make that up you must assume that those above the safety zone and indeed those in it will keep losing.
With all due respect, Nottingham Forest and West Ham are currently better than Wolves.
As I write this column, his replacement has not been announced. But good luck to him. He will need it.
If Wolves lose at Chelsea on Saturday, then they will have gone 11 games without a league win. And the chances are they will lose again, even allowing for a new manager 'bounce!
This game is live of Sky Sports (8pm kick off). Chelsea knocked Wolves out of the EFL Cup last Wednesday.
The Old Gold are heading towards relegation and at present I cannot see them surviving even with a new boss.
