Big ideas for semi house turned down by planners

A CONTROVERSIAL house extension in Castle Bromwich has been refused by Solihull planners.

Applicant Mr Ahmed applied for a first-floor side and two-storey rear extension to a property in Woodford Avenue in January.

Eight neighbours raised concerns during a public consultation, claiming the extension would "overbearing," "too big," and "not respecting the character of the area".

Solihull Council's planning committee had previously decided to delay a decision to give members time to visit the home.
