A Bath man who stole money from a charity broke down in the dock as he thought he was about to put behind bars.

Nathan Dickson stole a charity pot on two separate occasions, Bath Magistrates’ Court heard. The court heard that on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, he stole a charity pot with an estimated £80 inside from a shop on Mount Road, Bath.

On Tuesday, October 15, he returned to the same shop with clippers to cut the chain securing the pot before stealing it again, this time with roughly £30 inside.

The prosecution noted that Dickson had 40 previous convictions and asked for £110 compensation.
