US, Russia urge restraint

Russia and the United States have urged Thailand and Cambodia to accelerate efforts to revive peace talks, warning that the worsening border conflict poses a growing threat to regional stability.

The appeal comes amid the clashes along the border that resumed on Dec 7, which have left 23 Thai soldiers dead and displaced more than half a million civilians on both sides.
