Thanathorn casts poll as turning point

The upcoming election will be a defining test for the country's future, pitting forces of progress against those seeking to hold it back, according to Progressive Movement leader Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit.

“Thailand's future lies in everyone's hands,” he told a crowd who turned out for the People’s Party (PP) poll campaign in Trat yesterday.

Mr Thanathorn, who has been called PP’s spiritual leader, said the Feb 8 election will be a choice between progress driven by competence and expertise in the service of the people and forces seeking to keep the country stagnant. It is, he added, a choice between a government led by the Bhumjaithai Party (BJT) and one led by PP.
