Gold medals continued to flow for Thailand at the Asean Para Games in Nakhon Ratchasima, with the highlight coming from Sasirawan Inthachot, who carved her name into the record books with a blistering sprint in the women’s 100m T47 final.
-
At the 80th Anniversary Stadium, Sasirawan stormed to victory in 12.47 seconds, obliterating both the Asian and SEA Games records. Indonesia's Nanda Mei Sholihah claimed silver in 12.82, but the day belonged to the Thai sprinter, whose run was hailed as the performance of the Games so far.
Thailand also celebrated a one-two finish in the women’s shot put F37 final, an event where all top-four finishers surpassed the previous Games record.
Fasai Yapakham struck gold with a throw of 8.82m, setting a new SEA Games mark. Compatriot Apasiri Nootsreatthee took silver with 8.47m, while Malaysia's Umi Syuhadah Binti Idris (8.18m) and Noshazwani Binti Marzuki (7.88m) claimed bronze and fourth place respectively.
