Army claims Phnom Penh 'staging clashes'

The Second Army Region reported continued tension along the Thai-Cambodia border yesterday, citing multiple sightings of surveillance drones, before again accusing Cambodia of staging armed incidents to provoke Thailand and manipulate international opinion.

In a briefing yesterday, the army's operations centre said two reconnaissance drones were detected flying near the Arn Ma pass and another over Phu Makua. It said Thai troops remain stationed along defensive positions, maintaining close watch on Cambodian movements and prepared to respond if necessary.

The army urged the public to rely only on official information channels to avoid confusion caused by misinformation or unverified reports.
