Supanida and Ratchanok march into semi-finals

Defending champion Supanida Katethong and Ratchanok Intanon booked their berths in the women’s singles semifinals of the badminton competition, guaranteeing Thailand at least a bronze medal at the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games yesterday.

Supanida edged Mikaela Joy de Guzman of the Philippines 21-12, 24-22 and will next face top seed and Indonesian world No.7 Putri Kusuma Wardani, who ousted Malaysia’s Letshanaa A Karupathevan 21-18, 21-13.
The 30-year-old Ratchanok, who is playing in her last SEA Games, moved astep closer to winning the elusive singles crown as she defeated Christel Rei Fuentespina of the Philippines 21-12, 21-10.
