Red shirts get jail for rally

The Criminal Court yesterday sentenced 11 former red-shirt protesters to jail over their role in the 2010 anti-government demonstrations in Bangkok that culminated in an army crackdown that left scores of people dead.
The supporters of former premier Thaksin Shinawatra were found guilty of violating state of emergency rules imposed during the protests, which sought to oust then-prime minister Abhisit Vejjajiva.
