Prasert sure Shinawatras will win court showdowns

The Pheu Thai Party is confident former premier Thaksin Shinawatra and Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra will survive two upcoming crucial legal cases. He denies a House dissolution is in the pipeline.
Deputy Prime Minister and Digital Economy and Society Minister Prasert Jantararuangtong, who is also a senior member of the Pheu Thai Party, said he was confident Thaksin, the party’s spiritual leader, and Ms Paetongtarn, the Pheu Thai and government leader, will prevail in their legal battles.
He dismissed speculation of backup plans or House dissolution.
Mr Prasert’s remarks came after the Criminal Court dismissed Thaksin's lese majeste case on Friday.
