Parental benefits to expand

The amended labour protection law, introducing parental leave and extended maternity benefits, has come into force.
Deputy government spokeswoman Lalida Perswiwatthana said the revised law took effect after a 30-day waiting period following its publication in the Royal Gazette on Nov 7.
For the first time, the law grants spouses 15 days of fully paid leave to support their partner after childbirth.
