New Year DUI cases drop sharply

Drink-driving cases during the 2026 New Year period fell by more than 28%, with 4,531 offences recorded over seven days.
The Department of Probation released the figures yesterday, confirming a marked reduction in alcohol-related driving cases during the "Seven Dangerous Days" campaign from Dec 30 to Jan 5.
