HSBC sets digital transactions goal
Bangkok Post
|April 29, 2025
HSBC Thailand aims to become the No.1 foreign bank for digital transaction banking solutions in the Thai market, in line with the country's strong growth in digital banking adoption.
According to Nithi Vashirakovit, head of global payments services at HSBC Thailand, digital banking transactions in Thailand have continued to grow steadily over the past five years. HSBC Thailand's digital banking transactions have similarly increased, aligning with the national trend, he said.
According to Bank of Thailand data, Thais conducted an average of 651 digital banking transactions per person in 2024 — a 4.8-fold increase over the previous five years. Meanwhile, the average transaction size declined from 990 baht in 2019 to 480 baht in 2024, indicating broader usage and greater access to digital banking services among Thais.
