Flag carrier set to return to Pakistan

Bangladesh and Pakistan will resume direct flights after more than a decade, Bangladesh’s national airline said yesterday, as relations between the two countries continue to warm amid shifting regional dynamics.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is scheduled to operate its first direct flight from Dhaka to Karachi on Jan 29. The service will run twice a week, marking the first regular direct flights between the two countries since 2012.

“We are relaunching the Dhaka-Karachi route with two weekly flights,’ airline manager Bosra Islam told AFP yesterday.
