Chuvit gets 8 months in jail

The Criminal Court has sentenced former politician and former massage parlour tycoon Chuvit Kamolvisit to 12 months in prison for defaming and insulting former police officer Santhana Prayoonrat.

The sentence was later reduced to eight months due to his partial admission of facts that aided the proceedings.

The ruling on Wednesday followed a complaint filed by prosecutors on behalf of Mr Santhana.

The case stemmed from remarks made by Chuvit on Nov 23, 2022, during a live broadcast by Voice TV on YouTube.
