Chinese influencer to hawk Thai fruit

A popular Chinese influencer plans to conduct a Thai fruit live-stream sale on May 11-12, according to the Commerce Ministry.
Commerce Minister Pichai Naripthaphan said the ministry invited Taiyuan Lao Ge, a popular Chinese influencer with 93 million followers on Kuaishou, to participate in an upcoming live-stream event.
The initiative aims to set a new sales record, as last year he sold nearly 1 billion baht worth of Thai durian in just one day.
This event promotes a diverse range of Thai fruit to Chinese consumers, including durian, mango, longan and mangosteen.
