Cabinet list will go to King this week

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has confirmed the new cabinet list is complete and will be submitted for royal endorsement within the week.

Once approved, the new government will swiftly deliver its policy statement to parliament and begin official duties.

Mr Anutin said yesterday that the policy statement has already been prepared and shared with coalition partners for review. Each party was asked to examine the sections relevant to their ministerial portfolios and suggest revisions to remove potential obstacles to implementation.

“We want ministers to feel confident stepping into their roles,’ he said.

On the subject of cabinet composition and whether any nominees failed eligibility checks, the premier declined to comment, jokingly citing asore throat.
