Army denies election interference claims

The army has denied claims of election interference, confirming there will be no polling stations within military compounds.

Royal Thai Army (RTA) spokesman Maj Gen Winthai Suvaree said yesterday that measures are being taken by military units nationwide to support the upcoming election.
He said army chief Gen Phana Klaewplodthuk has encouraged all personnel to exercise their voting and referendum rights under the democratic system, based on personal discretion and without any guidance or interference.
