AoT boss defends plan to increase service charge

Airports of Thailand (AoT) has confirmed that the passenger service charge (PSC) on international departures will rise from 730 baht to 1,120 baht per passenger, while domestic flight charges will remain unchanged.
AoT president Paweena Jariya-thitipong said the adjustment is aimed at travellers heading to foreign countries and reflects actual operating costs rather than profit-seeking.
She added that the additional revenue will be reinvested into airport infrastructure and services to ensure long-term safety and efficiency.
