Responds to court request for lists

Interior Minister Phumtham Wechayachai brushed off concerns about the Constitutional Court's request for a witness list in a case alleging his interference in a Senate election investigation, insisting he did nothing wrong.

Mr Phumtham, also acting prime minister, yesterday responded to a Constitutional Court request that he and Justice Minister Pol Col Tawee Sodsong submit witness lists within 15 days.

The request stems from a petition by the Senate Speaker questioning whether their ministerial roles should be terminated due to alleged interference in the investigation into the vote to appoint the present Senate.

"I still do not even know what I am accused of. I was not involved in the vote-rigging case. It is a matter for the DSI and the Senate to deal with," he said.
