Time to enjoy our beaches safely and also responsibly

Ayrshire's coastline becomes the envy of Scotland at this time of year, and for good reason.

Great weather brings with it the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in this part of the world and, knowing Scottish summers, most people like to grab the opportunity while it’s there.

It's a positive trend, and people and businesses across the area are pleased to welcome visitors to enjoy our excellent beaches, and take pleasure from doing so themselves. But it's also clear as time goes on that new risks come with this territory, as well as the longstanding dangers which have always been present.

Wildfires are wreaking havoc across Europe at the moment, and Scotland isn’t immune from these either. We can’t just sit back and blame the climate.
