NFSU to give toxin checklist and antidotes to hospitals

Project coincides with Guj ATS's recovery of deadly Ricin; university's 'Toxicology Vigilance Programme' to help docs

The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad's recovery of the deadly poison Ricin has triggered swift action across Gujarat.

Ricin's lethal potential, capable of killing thousands, combined with the lack of a known antidote has prompted the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to step up its response.

NFSU will now compile a comprehensive checklist of poisonous substances, detailing their effects, symptoms, and treatments for all government and private hospitals. The university also plans to provide antidotes for emergency situations. High-level NFSU sources confirmed that preparations are already underway. Ricin, which is more deadly than cyanide, was discovered on terrorists arrested by the ATS. Concerns about a potential toxic terror attack have driven NFSU to tackle this threat head-on
