Help desks set up to swiftly process insurance claims

In the wake of Air India Flight AI-171's tragic crash, the Gujarat government has launched a comprehensive relief and recovery operation, including helpdesks to facilitate the swift disbursal of insurance and compensation.

District collectors have appointed nodal officers, including account officers and other officials, to aid the legal heirs of deceased passengers in navigating the process.

In line with IRDA guidelines, joint help desks have been set up at Civil Hospital.

New India Assurance is lead general insurer on behalf of the General Insurance Council, while HDFC Life heads the life insurers on behalf of the Life Insurance Council.

Helpdesks for New India Assurance, HDFC Life and LIC are available at the hospital to guide families and process their claims quickly and efficiently.
