GIFT City neighbours want more FSI, higher buildings

These are the main demands raised by residents, builder associations and other landowners as part of the feedback sought for Development Plan

The proposed Development Plan of Gandhinagar's GIFT City is currently facing scrutiny, with the Gift City Authority getting around 800 objections or suggestions. The authority will submit the same to the Urban Development Department (UDD) in the next fortnight.

The UDD announced a DP on December 15, covering 3,430 acres, merging GIFT City with five neighbouring villages - Shahpur, Ratanpur, Lavarpur, Pirojpur, and Valad. The two-month window to submit feedback has resulted in the GIFT City office getting over 500 responses, mainly focusing on building height restrictions and Floor Space Index (FSI) demands, said a Gift City official. However, citizens and associations said the number of responses is around 800.
