Several salaried taxpayers in Ahmedabad are facing sudden anxiety thanks to alarming text messages about ‘risk management’ on their income tax returns.

These messages are reportedly about incorrect high-value deals that they never made, showing up in their Annual Information Statement (AIS) on the Income Tax portal. This has raised fears about notices and tax scrutiny, even though the assessee has done nothing wrong.
