Woods carrries form into Reds' pre-season

FOLLOWING four goals across his last six games in 2024/25, Accrington Stanley's Ben Woods continued that rich vein of form and scored the only goal of the game as the Reds overcame Blackpool in a behind closed-doors preseason friendly.

Josh Woods intercepted the ball well in the 77th minute and fed play out wide to Shaun Whalley, whose low cross found B. Woods, with the midfielder then calmly slotting past Harvey Bardsley and into the back of the net.

Both sides named two changed teams for the first and second half, with Stanley's summer signings, midfielder Isaac Sinclair, defender Freddie Sass, and goalkeeper Ollie Wright, each getting 45 minutes under their belts.

FIRST HALF

THE visitors created the first opportunity of the game at the Stanley Sports Hub, with goalkeeper Michael Kelly doing well to deal with a third-minute Niall Ennis header, having been picked out by George Honeyman.
