A BUMPER crowd filled the stands for the second half of Loughborough’s double header, following on from the Lightning (women’s) side fixture with Harlequins earlier in the day.
The skies were clear, and Loughborough were aiming to finish the campaign strong as they entertained a Clifton side who had a chance to solidify second spot in the table.
Loughborough’s head coach Alex White knew that the task ahead would be a challenging but exciting one, saying pre-game: “Clifton are a strong outfit and we’ll have to be at our best.
“However, we are unbeaten at home since December and take huge pride in that form.”
As ever with the Student outfit in the National Leagues, there is a natural ending point for their journeys with the club, and this game marked the end of the journey for nine individuals within their matchday squad.
