Davis keen to put on a show on derby day

AIDON Davis has played in all three major leagues in Europe and feels the physicality of the Premiership best suits him as a South African.
The 29-year old Davis joined the Chiefs last season from the Cheetahs, but injury meant he missed the first three months of the campaign and was left having to make up for lost time.
But the back rower did score the winning try in the Premiership Cup final against London Irish’s in Brentford and came off the bench in the first half of the Champions Cup semi-final against La Rochelle.
“It helps a lot more when you are able to have a full pre-season and are good to go,” said Davis, who played for the Cheetahs in the United Rugby Championship and spent a couple of years in the Top 14 with Toulon and Bayonne.
“I started off with an injury last season and by the time I was fit the team had adapted and breaking into it was harder. A number of players have since left and I am now one of the older ones.
“The Premiership Cup last season helped us because we won it with a young side and many of those players have stepped up and are doing really well.”
