Be quick! McKellar's lowdown on Leinster

NORTHAMPTON had the chance last night to quiz Dan McKellar about their Champions Cup semi-final opponents Leinster but, before the East Midlands derby at Franklin’s Gardens, he said they would need do it quickly.

Leicester, who went down 40-17 to Northampton yesterday, played Leo Cullen’s Leinster twice in the tournament this season, losing at home in the group stage and pushing them hard at the Aviva Stadium last month.

“If they ask,” responded Tigers head coach McKellar when asked if he would be willing to pass on the lowdown Leicester picked up from the two encounters. “Leinster might get in touch for some information on Northampton because I have a good relationship with Leo!

“They are two really good sides and it will be a top fixture played before a massive crowd at Croke Park. Northampton have a fighting chance well and truly – they are in a good place and if you have confidence and belief you can do anything as a group.

“We fronted up physically to Leinster and put them under pressure. We were well in the game but an intercept try was a 14-point turnaround and Jamison Gibson-Park hurt us, his pass selection was outstanding.
