Lenell John-Lewis’ dipping effort from distance put the Minstermen in front of this lunchtime kick-of, only for in-form striker Ricky Korboa to level for Woking just before the hour.

But just when the sides looked like settling for a share of the spoils, Fallowfield bundled the ball home after Paddy Mclaughlin saw his shot cleared off the line.

“I’m a little bit worn out, but that’s what football does to you,” Ardley admitted. “First half we did everything we asked them to do. We were under pressure for the first 20–25 minutes of the second half we were under the cosh and they equalised.
