SCOTT'S GOT MOJO-AGAIN

SCOTT Harris says he refused to ‘sit in his own misery’ after watching his Walton & Hersham side miss out on the Isthmian League South Central title – and turned his attention immediately to winning promotion through the play-offs.

A 2-2 draw at Thatcham Town last weekend cost the Swans the championship, with Basingstoke Town’s win over South Park seeing them take the sole automatic promotion place instead.

But it was back to business for the famous Surrey club on Wednesday night and an 82nd-minute penalty from Harry Mills helped them come from behind to beat Northwood 2-1 in front of a crowd of 1,047 at the Elmbridge Xcel Sports Hub and reach Sunday’s play-off final at home to a Hanworth Villa team who finished fourth in the table.

That late Thatcham equaliser which denied his men the title was quickly forgotten by Harris, who then quickly turned his attentions towards to the following day despite being a self-confessed ‘terrible loser’.
