CITY of Liverpool FC’s FA Trophy dream ended after a second-half fightback from National League Hartlepool, but the Purps gave a great account of themselves and can be proud of this season’s run.
Home boss Paul McNally was proud of his side. “It was a game of two halves and a game of decisions,” he said.
“I thought we were good value for a win for 60 minutes, they’ve equalised and you’re not going to keep a team like them down for long, but I feel that certain decisions just went against us in that second half.
“It was a great goal by Josh (Quarless) but we did everything right in that first half: we were hungry, aggressive with our press and first to every loose ball and every second ball.
