A left sympathiser and a regular presence at party rallies and public programmes, she filed a police complaint against popular Malayalam movie director Ranjith alleging misconduct, which forced him to resign as chairman of the Kerala Film Academy. She was offered a role in Ranjith’s film Paleri Manikyam in 2009.

Q/ Ranjith has announced that he will take legal action.
