This ranking of America's Best Specialists and Surgeons 2024 recognizes the top doctors working to help patients through some of the most daunting medical procedures. For example, statistics show that the annual number of plastic surgery procedures in the U.S. has doubled since 1997. And about 1 million patients annually undergo surgeries on their spine to help treat chronic back and neck pain, while vascular surgeons will perform about 100,000 operations on blood vessels this year. There will be nearly 300,000 new cases of prostate cancer in the U.S. this year, all of which will require the attention of a specialist.
