That's wizard

A strong cast and visuals make for a more thrilling sequel to 2024's success.

In theatre, act two can sometimes be a bit of a slog following the climax of act one. At the end of last year's Wicked, the movie version of the hit stage musical which enraptured fans and many critics and garnered 10 Oscar nominations, Cynthia Erivo's misunderstood witch Elphaba belted out Defying Gravity then left an exhilarated audience to stumble out into the foyer for a yearlong interval.

Wicked: For Good continues the story (which is based on Gregory Maguire's 1995 reimagining of L Frank Baum's classic), and pleasingly, makes for a much more exciting part two now that the satin gloves are off.
